"I had given up cycling as I live 8 miles from town and the return journey home has several large hills and an overall climb of 200m. As a very heavy, older rider (over 50 over 20 stone) I can now accomplish this with ease and probably get the same amount of exercise as a normal weight rider on a conventional cycle.
Brilliant!"

"The customer support at Spencer Ivy is wonderful, and puts some of the competition to shame! I needed a second hand motor, which they were able to supply at a very reasonable rate, and were a delight to deal with. I would certainly check out their bikes and recommend anyone thinking of buying an electric bike to do likewise - you will be in good hands!"

"The Spencer Ivy electric bikes is just the thing for the hills of North London. I live in a Low Carbon Zone and am working daily to get residents and businesses out of the 4-wheel habit. The Spencer Ivy electric bicycle provides a wonderful opportunity for making the change and improving the local environment. It is particularly attractive to senior citizens who appreciate a boost up the steeper inclines!"

"I've been riding Ivy for a month now and it has changed my life. Never have I spent so much time on a bike. I am discovering new parts of London every day even though I've lived here 10 years!"

"Having owned the Ivy for a while now I thought I'd let you know that after testing several rival pedelec bicycles I chose the Spencer Ivy because it is the best. Everything on it just works, it is easy to ride, simple to use and it lives up to it's look and feel of a real quality, timeless bike. Riding through the lanes in Oxfordshire has become a delight, full of fresh air with just the right amount of exercise."

"I first came across Spencer Ivy's electric bikes in a newspaper article with the simple and classic look of their bikes that caught my eye. As a student on a budget and currently living in the city, an electric bike seemed an economical and practical way to travel. As a student midwife, I spend a lot of time working in the hopsital and travelling in the community hence considering the cost of insurance, tax, petrol, MOTs and parking as well as the intial purchase there is no doubt an electric bike will save me money compared to driving a car during my time at university. Insurance is going up for young new drivers as is the price of petrol.
An electric bike is often just as quick, if not quicker, than a car in the city what with dedicated cycle paths and the amount of traffic on the roads especially at rush hour. An electric bike also provides light exercise on a daily basis. Alternatively the assistance from the motor helps me home after a long or tiring day at work! My friends, family and collegues have been impressed by the idea, benefits and running/maintenance cost of my electric bike.
The service received from Spencer Ivy too has been excellent, swift and informative. I'd thouroughly recommend electric bikes especially those provided by Spencer Ivy"

"I purchased my 'Ivy electric bicycle' 8 weeks ago and it's fantastic! I have a collection of vintage bicycles dating from 1917 but I'm now finding them quite hard work due to a chronic painful muscular condition throughout my body.
I wanted to find an electric bike to assist me but in vintage style. There are plenty of modern style electric bikes out there but finding what I wanted seemed imposible, then I chanced upon the Spencer Ivy website. Bingo!
I tried the bike out in Greenwich Park one wet Sunday and bought it there and then!
It powers along nicely giving me the much needed help and looks amazingly elegant with its Brooks saddle and handgrips, loop frame and smart classic black appearance. I bought a wicker basket for the front and now happily cycle regularly to my local shops or take myself off for pleasant country rides. I must say, everywhere 'Ivy' and I go, we (or she!) get many admiring looks and she is a real conversation piece.
I can thoroughly recommend this bike to anyone seeking elegance combined with practicality on two wheels and the company is a pleasure to do business with"

As a design snob and a Pashley devotee of 35 years' standing, I thought I'd never find an e-bike to rival the Princess. How wrong I was. The Spencer Ivy outclasses the Pashley in a number of subtle ways (even in the manual mode, it seems to run more smoothly, the gear is more reliable, the ride feels less effortful, and the lines are somehow smoother). I tried a range of e-bikes before settling on this one, but the Spencer Ivy outscored them all - even the battery life (up to 50 miles per charge) was superior - and although I need an e-bike for health reasons, I have never required the maximum degree of help its motor offers - admittedly, Oxford doesn't have many hills!
This bike has given me back all the pleasure of cycling. If it costs a lot of money, it is worth every proverbial penny. Va, who is incredibly personable, couldn't have been more help. I'd give this bike 10 out of 10.

"You are buying a what?" "An electric bicycle" I replied to my lycra clad cycling purist family. The problem was that after an accident involving broken bones pins plates and a bone graft, those gentle hills on the way to work had become mountains worthy of a Himalayan Sherpa, certainly this was true in terms of the pain when cycling with recently mended bones!
Enter 'IVY'…Fabulous.. the Sherpa can be dispensed with for a pain free smooth ride to work and back each day, easily tackling those 'mountains'.
Did I hear the word 'awesome' muttered by the family? Be assured that my 'IVY' is securely tethered to the garage floor when I am not perched upon her gorgeous Brooks saddle, lest she be borrowed…but then the family would have to eat humble pie..for IVY really is just a bit fabulous!

The bike’s been wonderful, thank you. It’s great for commuting and I love the way people can’t seem to believe the speed I travel at, compared to the amount of effort I have to expend. It’s wonderfully engineered and very handsome too.
The brakes are superb, it handles well and is very comfortable. The battery seems to last for weeks without a recharge. I’ve not been out on it at night, but looking out the window I can tell that the lights will be tested soon.
Since Peter has gone to University, I tend to have a monopoly on the Spencer Ivy, but Oisin is growing up fast, so my monopoly may not last long!”
